SERVICES

CONSULTATION MEETINGS

The first step to receiving music therapy services is a free consultation meeting. During this meeting, the therapist will be available to sit down with prospective clients (or their parents) to discuss needs and what music therapy could potentially do for them, as well as answer questions.

MUSIC THERAPY SESSIONS

One on one music therapy sessions are generally held once a week in the client’s home. The music therapist will work with individuals and parents to develop goals which can be addressed during therapy, and then will prepare interventions to address these goals. Interventions are researched and targeted activities that address specific goals. These can include making music, listening to music, moving to music, composing music, and learning to play musical instruments. The music therapist will also collect data on how the client is progressing, which is evaluated to ensure that progress is being made.

MUSIC THERAPY GROUPS

Music therapy sessions can be held with groups as well as individuals. With groups, goals are generally set for the group as a whole, and data is collected on each participant. Groups may be siblings, other clients in the same facility, classes, or groups of peers.
